Announcements

Last week Mark and I were discussing our plans for the weekend. With Thanksgiving coming up we’ve got extra chores that need to be done. Mark announced, “Know what I’m going to do on Saturday?” I looked at him warily. “I’m going to fix that kitchen faucet.”

Did anyone else suddenly develop an eye twitch? Just me? OK.

Our kitchen faucet has been leaking for…well, I don’t really know because it’s been so long! So he tells me he’s going to fix it. Right before I have to start baking for Thanksgiving.

I didn’t say anything to him. Just nodded and began praying that after our 5k he didn’t have the steam to actually get to the faucet. Let me just state for the record, prayers do not work! Or maybe it’s just me they don’t work for. Either way, Mark fixed the faucet Saturday. Fixed it, alright! (insert eye-roll here)

He came into the room to inform me that he was heading to Lowe’s to get some washers for the faucet and that the kitchen water was shut off, but don’t worry, he’d have it up and running in no time at all. I finished up what I was working on and then went to sit in the hot tub. Soaking. Relaxing. Enjoying the warmth of the hot water on my body. Enjoying the warmth of the sun on my face. Completely at peace with the world.

Mark came down to the hot tub in his trunks and climbed in. “Well, I didn’t fix it and think it’s probably worse than it was before, but you’ve got water again.”

“I wish I’d have seen this coming.”

Edited to add: Walked in the door and there was a brand new faucet in the sink. And it works.

Edited to add AGAIN: It doesn’t work! More later.
