The best laid plans, as always, aren’t what they started out to be. After three fairly stressful weeks, I have ditched the half marathon plan. At some point, I may decide to go for it again, but for now I am content to do my normal Mississippi 7K race.
The reality of my life right now is that I don’t have time to adequately prepare for the half without the risk of injury and burnout. But I do have time to aim for a PR on my normal 7K. That is how I will proceed with my training – with a PR in mind instead of an overwhelming race in mind. I feel good about my decision.
