Well, it’s official. Another one of my children is married off and beginning a new life.
Mormon weddings are a little bit different. Not everyone goes in to actually see the ceremony because you have to be a member in good standing in order to have a temple recommend so that you can enter the building. Even those who do have a temple recommend don’t always get to go in and see the ceremony because space is limited. So traditionally, once the ceremony is over, anyone who was privileged enough to be inside heads outside to where the sinners….er, um, I mean…the people who weren’t able to go inside for whatever reason are waiting. Then the bride and groom emerge through the designated door. There they are. Coming out of the door. Greeting everyone kind of for the first time as husband and wife. Basically what that means in this instance is that it’s the first time that anyone saw her in her wedding dress. Because her dress has short sleeves she couldn’t wear it in the temple and instead wore her normal temple clothes to be married in, then changed into her wedding dress to make her grand entrance (exit???) into the real world to greet her guests.
I laughed at Jackie because when he went to kiss her she pulled away like “Oh, no way am I kissing you in front of everyone.” It was very cute.
Now you can see them kiss!! I love this picture of them.
Their first dance. I chuckled when he dipped her. I don’t think she was expecting it.
Some of my favorite pictures are of Jackie with her sisters and brother, but I’ll save those for a different day. I’m still trying to get caught up with my life after being gone on a whirlwind trip. I can’t wait to get pictures that the professional photographer took. I didn’t get great pictures out in the bright sunshine. Still trying to figure out light settings on my camera.
